Whole-aircraft RANS at the aircraft definition's own full-flap detent — wing flaps 30°, canard flaps 25°,
ganged on one lever as designed. Two configurations at matched mesh: coordinated (canard on, both flap
sets down) and orphaned (canard deleted, wing flaps down). Traces are coloured by the induced
vertical velocity — the aircraft's own disturbance — so undisturbed air reads neutral and only the wake
shows. The nose arrow is the measured hands-off pitching moment at zero elevator — positive is NOSE-DOWN
in the flap campaign's convention, so it points down: a tick while the ganged lever cancels it, a large
pitch-down impetus once the canard is deleted. The callout at the tail points at the elevators and
prices the moment in their currency: degrees to trim, and — canard-off — the aft down-force the
surfaces must hold against the pitch-down (ledger numbers, quoted to the degree — 30° of flap
separates the flow, so all flapped solves sit at the iteration cap).
The streak paths are the computed flow. The
shimmer is stylistic — a steady solve carries no turbulence to animate — so its amplitude is tied to
the local vertical velocity, meaning disturbed air visibly jitters more than clean air.
