We’re opening with the hardest equation in the whole curriculum. Deep breath. Here it is: 1 + 1 = 2. …Okay, it’s not hard. But stay with me — it’s secretly the most powerful move you already know.
Addition is a superpower everyone forgot was cool
Here’s why this rung matters: the AI that’s currently freaking everyone out is doing this exact move, under the hood, about twenty trillion times a second — combine amounts, that’s it. Put a thing next to a thing. Count them. A caveman did it with mammoths. You do it with the cash in your pocket. Same move you already own. Just heavily caffeinated.

Everything else is just addition in a costume
Here’s the secret the whole map is built on: every fancier operation is addition that got ambitious. Multiplication is addition too lazy to repeat itself — 4 + 4 + 4 is just “three fours.” Subtraction is addition walking backwards. It’s addition all the way down — and we’ll climb each of those next.
